Foundations in New Mexico That Accept Grant Applications
Every one of these 30 foundations is based in New Mexico, gave to at least ten organizations we could identify, filed a return covering 2023 or later, and did not tell the IRS it funds only organizations it picks itself. Roughly three in four private foundations do tell the IRS exactly that; those are not listed here.
Ordered by number of organizations funded, not by dollars. Funding more organizations means more turnover in who gets a grant each year, which is a reasonable proxy for how often a list like this one changes -- it is not a signal that any specific foundation is open to a new, unsolicited applicant.
New Mexico foundations that fund only organizations they pick
Each of these told the IRS it does not accept unsolicited requests, so none is in the list above. Each has a page because a real share of its giving went to community foundations and other organizations that make grants themselves, and the page names them. Ordered by number of organizations funded.
| Foundation | Based in | Organizations funded | Grantmakers among them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carroll Petrie Foundation | Santa Fe, NM | 155 | 3 |
